What is a Portal?

A portal or web portal is a website that collects information from various sources consistently and uniformly. Each information source gets a specific area on the page to display the information. There are different types of portals such as personal, financial and stock, search, healthcare, government, and corporate protocols. Mainly, there are two types of portals as internal and external portals.
