The Code of Ethics and Administration of Artificial Intelligence (AI Governance and Ethics-AIGE) is being developed and is intended as a regulatory measure for the development and adaptation of responsible AI technology. Its development and implementation is being examined by two ministries, namely the Digital Ministry and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). The document outlines specific guidelines related to the adaptation of AI that also emphasizes principles that are in line with the requirements of religion, culture, identity and national legislation.
The National Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence Committee (NBAIC) led by MOSTI is responsible for setting the strategic direction, coordinating and monitoring initiatives in the National Artificial Intelligence Roadmap 2021 - 2025.
Through the Working Committee related to Legislation and Ethics, matters of drafting legal solutions that constrain the development of AI technology innovation will be carried out in accordance with the established principles and guidelines. The Digital Ministry also always works with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) and other Government agencies in ensuring the ethical and safe use of AI technology. Specifically the realm of content creation as AI technology has great potential to revolutionize the content industry.
The AI ​​Talent Roadmap 2024-2033 action plan is in line with the government's efforts in exploring new economic opportunities by providing sufficient national talent. Some of the actions, Talent Development under the National Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence Committee (NBAIC) in the Third Working Committee (JK3), is a collaboration between the government and the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) and other ministries led by the KPT.
MOSTI through its professional talent development program strives to reach 200 targets by 2025.
