4–6 February 2026, Serdang – UPM participated in the Strengthening and Finalisation Workshop for the IPTA Digital Repository System held in Kuching, Sarawak. The three-day workshop was organised by the Public Universities ICT Directors Council (MAPITA), with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) appointed as the host of the programme.

The initiative to develop the integrated Whole-of-Government (WoG) ICT IPTA Digital Repository System began in October 2025. The system is being fully developed online by participating members who are Information Technology Officers from nine (9) public universities under the Ministry of Higher Education: UNIMAS, USM, UPM, UKM, USIM, UMT, UPSI, UMS and UTM.

UPM was represented by Ts. Juraidah Mohamad Amin and Puan Maziah Alis @ Alias, who were responsible for developing the ICT Governance Document Module. The two-day workshop session included a User Acceptance Test (UAT) to obtain feedback from all participants and to implement system improvements. At the end of the workshop, a presentation and demonstration of the IPTA Digital Repository System was conducted for the Project Monitoring Committee at Mind Bind, Tun Abang Haji Openg Digital Centre (TAHODC), UNIMAS.

Overall, in addition to achieving the objectives outlined for the programme, the workshop also strengthened collaboration among application developers from the participating universities. Participants had the opportunity to connect, discuss, exchange ideas, and share experiences in addressing challenges related to application management at their respective universities.

It is hoped that programmes such as this will continue to strengthen strategic cooperation among universities, while contributing to the development of a more robust and competitive technology ecosystem in the future.
