
31 July 2026, Kuala Lumpur - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) participated in the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Chief Digital Officer (CDO) Meeting No. 1/2026, held at the University of Malaya in both physical and virtual formats.
Chaired by the Deputy Secretary-General (Management and Development) and Chief Digital Officer (CDO) of MOHE, YBhg. Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Nor Azman Hassan, the meeting brought together Chief Digital Officers from public universities, departments and agencies to strengthen collaboration and align the nation's higher education digital transformation agenda.

A key discussion focused on the development of the AI Education Hub, a national platform led by MOHE in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MOE). The initiative aims to establish a comprehensive AI ecosystem covering talent development, research, innovation and a continuous AI talent pipeline from schools to higher education institutions.
The meeting also discussed the proposed establishment of the Malaysian Public Universities Chief Digital Officers Council, strategic collaboration with industry in AI talent development and integrated circuit (IC) design, as well as the adoption of the ILMU (Intelek Luhur Malaysia Untukmu) AI Model to strengthen the nation's higher education AI ecosystem.
This meeting reflects the University's commitment to supporting the national digital transformation agenda and strengthening strategic collaboration in advancing digital technologies and artificial intelligence, in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI and the Malaysia Higher Education Plan (RPTM) 2026–2035.
