Smart Learning Sharing Google Workspace (Google Maps, Google Earth) with OSH UPM

 

24 July 2024, SerdangThe Digitization and Smart Campus Division, Infocomm Development Center (iDEC) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) held a digitization sharing session with the staff of the Occupational Safety and Health Management Office (OSH). The sharing session was presented by Ts. Saiful Ramadan b. Surprised.

Here are some of the activities carried out in the session:

  1. Learning about Google Maps: OSH staff were given exposure to Google Maps, including how to use it to find locations, get directions, and explore maps digitally.
  2. What is Google Timeline: In this session, participants understand the concept of Google Timeline, which allows users to view their movement history based on location data collected by Google applications.
  3. Exposure to Google Earth: OSH staff were taught how to use Google Earth to view the world map in three dimensions, explore places of interest, and understand geography more deeply.
  4. Data & Image Input Training in Google Maps: Participants were given practical training on how to input data and images into Google Maps, including marking important locations and customizing the map.

This sharing session aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of OSH staff in using digital tools such as Google Workspace to improve occupational safety and health at UPM. Overall, the OSH staff managed to understand the knowledge presented and are ready to digitize their first project, which is to update information & location of fire hydrants in UPM.
