Sharing Session: University Strategic Data Management and System Testing

Bangi, Selangor; 28 November 2023: The Infocomm Development Center (iDEC) held a visit to the Information Technology Center, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) for a sharing session related to Quality Assurance and Data Strategic Management.

The session was attended by 11 officers from iDEC UPM and 6 officers from UKM. iDEC is very pleased with UKM's willingness to accept this visit and where various related information has been shared.

The information to be shared is under the Infrastructure and Data Governance Cluster headed by Cik Seri Manja Abdul Wahab. Application system testing is carried out by the Application Study and Consulting Unit led by Ahmad Najmi Ismail which has a total of 9 staff members. The application test session is carried out and all improvements during UAT will be fixed before it is fully used. Uniquely at UKM, members of the application testing team are not from the department that implements application development. With this approach, each team will be more focused on their respective tasks.

The university's strategic data is data that will help the top management of the university as a reference in making decisions. It is also used for ranking purposes and is the supervision of the university's Strategic Center. UKM's Information Technology Center will help from a technical point of view, namely the preparation of the portal and the necessary data integration. Strategic data management involves several entities or responsibility centers because data cannot be displayed in general and have a certain classification. This classification needs to be determined by the agency and needs to refer to the Information Security Management Guidelines Through Cloud Computing (Cloud Computing) In Public Services.

Hopefully with the existence of this partnership it will be able to provide benefits and allow as a reference to iDEC for the reorganization of functions and roles.
