Sambutan Bulan Digital UPM 2025

SERDANG, November 2025 – The InfoComm Development Centre (iDEC), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), is organising UPM Digital Month 2025 (BD2025) throughout November 2025 as an initiative to strengthen digital culture across the university community. The programme is aligned with the fourth UPM 2025 Key Strategy, namely the Digital Culture Initiative, as outlined in the UPM Vice-Chancellor’s Narrative 2025.

BD2025 serves as a platform to enhance awareness, knowledge and digital capabilities among the UPM community in adopting technology creatively, effectively and responsibly. A diverse range of activities has been organised, involving students and staff through learning sessions, knowledge sharing, competitions and interactive programmes designed to encourage greater engagement with digital technologies.

The activities include Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses, digital culture training involving platforms such as Google, Microsoft and Canva, as well as Roundtable Sessions, webinars, forums and ICT circular briefings. These programmes provide participants with opportunities to explore digital technologies and AI applications in various contexts, including productivity enhancement, creativity, communication and service delivery.

Another initiative featured during BD2025 is AI-based office exercise, which demonstrates a creative application of technology in supporting the well-being of the university community. In addition, a variety of competitions have been organised to encourage active participation and innovation, including the Hackathon, Datathon, Prompt-a-thon, e-Sports, TikTok Challenge and Inter-PTJ Digital Culture Competition.

The highlight of BD2025 is scheduled to take place from 9 to 10 December 2025 at the Main Hall, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts and Cultural Centre (PKKSSAAS), UPM. The main celebration will feature a range of strategic and inspirational programmes, including the UPM Digital Transformation Plan 2026–2030 Townhall, TED Talk featuring Digital Inspiration Icons, the Putra Fibre Launch, and the Digital Exploration Exhibition, which will showcase UPM’s ICT strategic partners and digital solutions.

A keynote session to be officiated by the UPM Vice-Chancellor will also serve as one of the key highlights of the programme. Overall, BD2025 is expected to strengthen digital readiness among the UPM community, encourage the adoption of technology in daily activities and work practices, and support the university’s aspiration to become a more innovative, agile and competitive digital organisation.
