MELAKA, 25 January 2026 – The InfoComm Development Centre (iDEC) has undertaken a strategic initiative to formulate its ICT direction, priorities, and implementation focus for 2026 through the organisation of the iDEC 2026 Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Review and Strategic Planning Workshop, held from 23 to 25 January 2026 at Parkroyal A’Famosa Melaka Resort, Melaka.

The workshop served as a key platform for iDEC management to evaluate the achievement of 2025 KPIs, identify implementation gaps, and formulate a more structured, realistic, and university-aligned strategic direction and KPI plan for 2026. Discussions also focused on aligning iDEC KPIs with the UPM Strategic Plan 2021–2025 (PSUPM), the university’s digital transformation priorities, and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) as an enabler of digital governance through strengthened data management, control-based process automation, strategic decision-making support, and compliance with university ICT policies.

Key areas of focus during the workshop included presentations on iDEC’s 2025 KPI achievements, KPI planning by function and division, the setting of performance targets and indicators, as well as proposed strategic projects to support the delivery of more impactful and sustainable ICT services in 2026.

Beyond performance aspects, the workshop also discussed human resource and financial planning, including an analysis of post-restructuring effectiveness within iDEC, findings from management feedback surveys, and strategies for revenue generation and resource management to support the implementation of the formulated strategic direction.

The workshop concluded with an emphasis by UPM’s Chief Digital Officer (CDO) on the importance of collective commitment, strong ICT governance, and organisational adaptability to ensure iDEC continues to play its role as the leading provider of ICT services for the university.
