Honoring the recognition of technology and technical programs in Malaysia

  

18 November 2024, Putrajaya: The Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT) has established the Technology and Technical Professional Development Council (TPDC) to ensure quality assurance and certification standards for short courses in technology and technical programs. In addition, TPDC also plays a role in giving recognition to skills programs through Professional Technical Certification.

The restructuring of the MBOT Quality, Training and Education Committee to TPDC was approved by the Board. The Council includes the current members of the MBOT Quality, Training and Education Committee to ensure continuity and utilize the expertise possessed by existing members.

Congratulations to YBrs. Professor. Ts. Dr. Nurfadhlina Mohd. Sharef on the appointment as a Member of the Technology and Technical Professional Development Council (TPDC) effective from November 18, 2024 until July 11, 2026. Infocomm Development Center (iDEC) is proud of this appointment and hopefully will be able to provide excellent services and contributions to dignify recognition of technology and technical programs in Malaysia.

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE TECHNOLOGY AND TECHNICAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL OF THE MALAYSIAN TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL (TPDC):

  1. Set and review certification policies and criteria.
  2. Recognize guidelines and processes to achieve certification goals.
  3. Approve the appointment of the evaluation panel
  4. Recommend a decision after receiving recommendations from the evaluation panel.
  5. Propose the certification decision to the Board.
  6. Provide advice to the Board related to the development and operation of certification locally and internationally.
  7. Monitor and certify training providers to ensure compliance with standards, report on certification operations and recommend policy changes to the Board if necessary.
  8. Advising the Board on programs offered by Training Providers in an effort to improve the quality of training provided.
