UPM's Information and Communication Development Center (iDEC) is planning the development of an AI platform that aims to support decision-making, research, innovation, and teaching and learning at UPM. This is an important step towards realizing the national food security agenda. Various issues were discussed including the need for high-performance infrastructure, agricultural data integration, as well as collaboration between academia and industry. The workshop also emphasized the importance of AI in driving innovation and improving research results that can be used by farmers and industry. Through interactive sessions and presentations, workshop participants voiced their views and suggestions on the needs and challenges faced in efforts to strengthen the AI ​​ecosystem at UPM. This workshop is expected to produce several strategic initiatives that will further strengthen UPM's position as an AI reference center for food security in Malaysia. The workshop also served as a platform to foster awareness of the importance of AI in supporting the food safety mission and provide opportunities for students and staff to deepen AI skills, in line with current technological developments.
