8 August 2024, Serdang: The Digitization and Smart Campus Division, Infocomm Development Center (iDEC), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has organized a briefing on Alibaba Cloud Workspace, or Elastic Desktop Service (EDS). This briefing, delivered by industry representatives, aims to introduce cloud-based virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technology to university and industry people. Alibaba Cloud Workspace is a modern solution that allows users to create, manage, and access virtual desktops securely through cloud infrastructure. With the ability to be accessed from a variety of devices such as PCs, tablets, and mobile phones, the service offers flexibility and security in the work environment, making it ideal for remote work and online collaboration needs.
Industry representatives emphasized the main advantages of this service, including easy scalability, high data security with encryption and two-factor authentication, as well as cost efficiency through reduced need for physical hardware. "Alibaba Cloud Workspace not only provides easy and secure access to desktops from any location, but also simplifies IT infrastructure management for organizations," he said.
