The InfoComm Development Centre (iDEC) has organised a series of workshops to strengthen data governance and digital transformation initiatives across Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM): 

1. Digital Governance Workshop Series 1/2024 - UPM Data Integration and Data Dictionary

Objectives:

1. Identify issues and constraints affecting data quality.
2. Develop a coordinated plan for the standardisation of the UPM Data Dictionary.
3. Identify enhancement requirements for the management of the UPM Data Lake.

 

2. UPM Data Governance Workshop Series 1/2024 - Identifying Issues and Challenges

Objectives for Strengthening UPM Data Governance:

1. Identify the roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders in strengthening UPM Data Governance - (Establishment of Centres/Committees)
2. Foster collaboration and coordination among all relevant stakeholders - (Development of Relevant Policies and Guidelines)
3. Align existing application systems to support high-quality data integration across UPM - (Data and Application Systems Integration)
4. Identify Enterprise Architecture (EA) requirements for effective data management at UPM - (Implementation of the UPM Enterprise Architecture (EA))

 

UPM Strategic Data Management Committee

The UPM Strategic Data Management Committee is responsible for establishing the University's strategic direction for data governance, monitoring the implementation of strategic initiatives, and providing advice on policies and emerging issues related to the management and governance of UPM's strategic data.
