On 26 August 2022, the checkers semi-final  competition took place at the Reading Corner, iDEC Alpha at 10 am.

This competition is divided into 2 categories, male and female. A total of 10 male and 10 female participants participated in this competition. 2 male and female contestants have been selected to fight for the title of champion in the upcoming finals.

The male and female category champions will take home a prize of a book sponsored by idec management to foster reading interest.
