SERDANG, 22 April 2025 – The InfoComm Development Centre (iDEC), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), conducted the First iDEC EKSA Self-Audit for 2025, involving all five EKSA zones, namely EKSA Zones Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Sigma and the ICT Section.
The self-audit is part of iDEC’s continuous efforts to ensure that the Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA) practices are consistently implemented across the workplace. The audit also aimed to assess compliance with EKSA criteria and identify areas for continuous improvement towards creating a more organised, clean, safe and comfortable working environment.
Ts. Rosliza Ibrahim, Head of the iDEC EKSA Audit Committee, led the audit with the support of 24 iDEC internal EKSA auditors. The involvement of the internal auditors demonstrates the commitment of iDEC staff to ensuring that EKSA implementation is systematically monitored, evaluated and continuously improved.
The audit covered three main areas, namely workplace and office areas, common areas, and environmental safety. The assessment focused on various aspects including cleanliness, organisation, space arrangement, equipment management and the overall condition of the workplace to ensure a safe and conducive environment.
The self-audit was not merely focused on compliance but also served as an important platform to strengthen awareness and shared responsibility among iDEC staff. The audit findings are expected to assist each EKSA zone in identifying its strengths as well as areas requiring further improvement.
Through consistent EKSA implementation, iDEC remains committed to maintaining a clean, safe, organised and conducive workplace. This initiative is also expected to contribute towards enhancing staff productivity, workplace well-being and the quality of service delivery to the UPM community.
The successful implementation of the self-audit reflects iDEC’s continuous commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture and strengthening good practices in workplace management. It also demonstrates the collective responsibility of all iDEC staff in maintaining a professional and high-quality working environment.
