27 Julai 2023, Serdang: The Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) activity for UPM's ICT was
conducted at Thinker Space 2.0, Faculty of Engineering, UPM, with the participation of 29
attendees. The participants included members from the Bahagian Operasi Aplikasi (BOA),
Bahagian Infrastruktur ICT (BIT), Bahagian Komunikasi Multimedia (BKM), Bahagian ICT
HSAAS, UPM Kampus Bintulu and was also attended by the Deputy Director (ICT Services),
Ts. Syemsul Bahrim Abdul.
In the morning, a meeting of the UPM ICT DRP Team was held, chaired by the Head
of the UPM ICT DRP Team, Ts. Ahri Sogok. Meanwhile, the UPM ICT DRP workshop, led by
Ts. Rostam Abu Bakar, took place in the afternoon. The Director of iDEC, Ts. Mohd Faizal
Daud, was also present at the workshop session. Among the topics discussed were a review
of the membership of the UPM ICT Disaster Recovery Team and document refinement.
The workshop's objective was to examine, review, and update the DRP documents
by referring to the template provided by Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and
Management Planning Unit (MAMPU). Document refinement was also carried out to align
with the master document through the Service Continuity Plan. Participants were divided into
nine (9) groups based on application and infrastructure categories. The workshop's
outcomes were presented at the end of the session by each group leader. This workshop
also serves as preparation for the team in successfully conducting a disaster recovery
simulation scheduled for the end of August 2023.
