SERDANG, 30 June 2026 – In conjunction with Putra Synergy Month 2026, themed "From Campus to National and Global Impact: Synergy for a Sustainable Future", the InfoComm Development Centre (iDEC), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), has launched the TechSinergi SPARK programme to support the university's commitment to digital transformation and innovation.

Carrying the tagline "Technology Dominance, Aspirations Catalyst, Empowering the PUTRA Spirit", the programme is fully aligned with UPM's five (5) strategic focus areas for 2026, serving as a catalyst for strengthening the university's digital ecosystem and advancing its transformation agenda.

TechSinergi SPARK aims to cultivate the adoption of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, particularly Gemini and NotebookLM, to enhance productivity, improve work efficiency, and encourage the practical application of AI technologies across the university community.

The programme also focuses on developing practical digital innovation solutions while enhancing digital literacy and prompt engineering skills among participants. Through hands-on learning and knowledge-sharing activities, participants are equipped with the competencies required to utilise AI technologies effectively, creatively, and responsibly in their academic and professional activities.

Through this initiative, iDEC hopes to foster a culture of digital innovation, strengthen technological competencies among the university community, and support UPM's digital transformation agenda in building a future-ready, competitive, and sustainable institution with greater national and global impact.
