Implementation of UPMNET Network Access Control System (Final Stage)

Infocomm Development Center (iDEC) is currently implementing the UPM Internet Access Control System. This system has already been implemented and enforced in all of the UPM Residential Colleges WiFi networks.

To date nine (9) stages have been implemented and the final stage  will be implemented on 23rd November 2017 and please refer to the Implementation Schedule (Jadual Pelaksanaan) for details.

With the completion of the final stage, access control to UPM Network (UPMNET) for the entire UPM Serdang Campus will be authenthicated.

The rationale of the implementation of this sytem is to enforce control on the use of Internet access by:

  1. allowing  Internet access only to authorised personnel and student of UPM via UPMNet.
  2. providing a common level of Internet access speed for each user

All personnel and students of UPM who wish to access the Internet need to undergo the verification process using their UPM-ID.

Attached herewith, please find the schedule of the implementation and the User Guide for your perusal.

For users who are performing first time login, please logout and login again to ensure best Internet access speed is attained.
