Serdang, 7 October 2019: UPM has implemented the Surveillance Audit for Information Security Management System (ISMS) ISO / IEC 27001: 2013 and held for 3 days from 7 to 9 October 2019.

The Infocomm Development Centre (iDEC) is one of the 11 Responsibility Centers (PTJs) that involve for SIRIM Audit this year. Other PTJs involved are Quality Assurance Center (CQA), Admissions and Academic Affairs Division, Student Affairs Division, Office of Corporate Strategy and Communications, Office of Legal Advisors, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Design and Architecture, Tenth College, Tun Dr. Ismail College, and UPM Bintulu Campus.

iDEC was audited by SIRIM's Auditor, Ms. Noridah Yahya on October 7, 2019, located in iDEC Beta. The Audited scope is Operation of Data Center that involves planning and control operations, information security risk assessment, and information security risk management.

In addition, the audit was also made on the effectiveness of controls involving Statement of Applicability (SOA) at the InfoComm Development Centre (iDEC) which include data center operations and information security incident management.

The audit report was presented by the SIRIM ISMS Audit leader during the Closing Meeting on October 9, 2019, and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) received the following audit findings: 1 Nonconformity Report (NCR) and 4 Opportunities for Improvement (OFI).
